About the Process
This consultation uses a large-
scale, open deliberative process to co-design a government human-
AI decision system. A multi-month public process will produce a wireframe for an automated permit and access system for Methexis Park.
Phase 1: An open online call for submissions to map significant technical, social, and ecological issues.
Phase 2: Online exchange where participants propose and vote on design ideas.
Phase 3: An in-person summit where a smaller group synthesises the input into a wireframe system map.
Regular blog posts will be published by observers at intervals throughout the process.

Methexis Park:
Co-designing a public decision system
Summary
The CEAD Group invites public participation in the first process of its kind: co-designing an automated decision system to manage use and access permits for Methexis Park, an ecologically significant urban blue-green space in Landin. The system will enable practical public governance for the growing issue of algorithmic decision system design, and balance community access with ecological integrity.
We are consulting on:
A participatory process for designing an automated permit system
What constitutes a ‘good decision’, balancing social, technical, ecological, and legal factors
Restrictions on potentially high-risk design features (e.g. surveillance, facial recognition, data gathering without ecological oversight)
Data, privacy, and data governance
Whether guidance on public participation in AI design should be placed on a statutory footing
Better community support, including clearer information on how automated decisions are made and how to challenge them.
