Talk: Live Action Role-Playing Participatory Co-Design / Ada Lovelace 11 Nov
This week we were invited to speak about the Future of Good Decisions project’s use of Live Action Role Play as a research method, at the Ada Lovelace Institute in London. Big thanks to Eleanor O’Keeffe, Public Participation and Research Practice Lead, and Octavia Field Reid, the Institute’s Associate Director, for inviting and hosting us! It’s inherently worthwhile to be out and about talking about LARP, co-design, and participatory governance, and talking through the LARPs we are currently producing to see if they make sense to others. But it’s even better to have such a knowedgeable and dedicated group to speak with: in the Q&A, we got into important discussions about data protection, fundamental rights, and the project’s shift of attention, from LARPing decision-making to prefiguring decision system design. Thanks all to who came along in person and online!
